this building is on E St, i believe it's an orthodontist's, a dr chin i believe (big fan of jimmy hill); there are a lot of new students around in davis right now, milling about, being unnecessarily loud, and at the point in their academic careers where they are still going everywhere in large groups because they don't know each other well enough to figure out who not to hang out with (it's like reality tv, they'll drop by one every week). After a summer of being able to get a table at a restaurant, it's always a shock to the system. And so, the last day of september. I figured sepia was the right choice.
goodbye september

Red Queen / Website (1.10.07 17:14) Ooh, another breathing sepia... and a great new layout... someone's been wasting no time. |
petescully / Website (1.10.07 19:43) thanks! but i've definitely been wasting time. took a lot of chopping about to get to this layout. but my third year in america has suddenly begun, so time for a change. |

Roshan (2.10.07 10:58) I've gotta be honest mate, I'm not all that keen on the new layout. Obviouly the art still stands out but the environment itself kinda lacks character - it's a bit sterile. It's sort of like the equivalent of having your art on display in the Tate Modern.....whereas I'd prefer to see it looking more like the British Museum - do you know what I mean? Also miss having all your links down the side. Nice new pics though. |
petescully / Website (2.10.07 17:04) i like the layout - and the links are still down the side (are you using a different browser like firefox? it might be making it look different). I think it has character; the layout's almost exactly the same except for the colours and the banner, and i spent some time on the banner making it look how i wanted it to, i couldn't do that before. |
Roshan (2.10.07 17:59) Yeah, I'm using Firefox so maybe it's been displaying the page weird. Actually, this time round all the links have reappeared at the side, rather than at the bottom, where they were before. And also, your name is at the top, which wasn't there before either. Curiouser and curiouser.... Anyway, it looks much better now!! |
petescully / Website (2.10.07 18:25) but can you see the banner image? behind the name title, there should be a picture strecthing from left to right. look at it in internet explorer, that's how it's meant to look. i don't know why firefox isn't showing it properly. PS haven't had time to read the writing you sent me yet, but will do later today. |

Red Queen / Website (3.10.07 20:48) You, Pete, have been tagged. You get a book to burn, among other things, so go and see blog for details. |
Katherine / Website (5.10.07 06:57) Hi Pete - thanks for the comment on my blog. I came over here and found a blog I like the look of! The comment about the students made me chortle! BTW - I can't see a pic as a banner at the top. |
petescully / Website (5.10.07 08:18) cheers! perhaps the banner is really one of those things you need to stare at for ages until it comes into view, what were those things called; either way, i don't know why it's invisible to some. oh well. |
karen Sandstrom / Website (6.10.07 22:58) I love the shadow on the roof. (Is that a sketchgeek comment or what?) I also like the new layout. It seems a little easier to see your work. |
petescully / Website (7.10.07 07:21) Many thanks! and yes, the shadow on the roof is pretty much the only reason i sketched it! |
