wrapped up in books

my wife's books

My wife's textbooks, mostly differing advice (of the 'swear-by-them/swear-at-them' kind), often unapplicable to your actual baby, same as any user guide really. What I really need to know is how to stop the yellow baby poo leaking from the back of the nappy and staining everything in sight. Of course, he thinks this is the height of hilarity. The answer may be to buy yellow clothes, or better still, black clothes, so baby can be cool (y'know, like his dad).

You can't buy him black clothes yet. He's still young and learning things so he has to wear white. Maybe in a couple of years you can throw some brown clothes on him but he can't wear fully black clothes until he's a lot older and has developed some of his skills.

Didn't you learn anything from the Star Wars films???

My much-thumbed copy of scaremongering twaddle "What To Expect When You're Expecting" met the end of its life in a rubbish bag ... meanwhile, the Baby Whisperer's book I dismissed as soon as she mentioned that she'd been told she sounded like Daphne from "Frasier".

Oh, the wisdom I'd have if I were planning to have a second child!!

yes...i can't say i'm a fan of these books. My wife too was irritated by the baby whisperer's tone of writing, especially when she says "love". I think ms.hogg may be one of those 'experts' like "dr" gillian mckeith.
