(9.12.05 22:56) It's bizarre. I'm so used to the wholesome look of a light brown egg. But I used to work for a Jewish caterer and in general they only use white eggs too. Something to do with them being unblemished, I think. One of life's little oddities.

(12.12.05 21:01) that's interesting because when I was a child it was fabulous to get a brown egg - it was really unusual - then they started adding something to chicken feed that made the eggs brown so brown eggs didn't have the same interest. Here in Switzerland where they fuck about with the food a lot less than in other places we get a fairly constant mixture of brown and white - with white being dominant (as you would expect!)
