.01 fineline pen and paper, a bench beneath a tree beside the historic hunt-boyer house, downtown davis. the same .01 fineline pen and paper; this noble arbre lives on the ucd campus quad, giving shade to generations of scientists, writers and aspiring animal doctors. There's a family of squirrels who live there, and they drop acorns and other heavy things onto their heads, unwittingly giving them all great ideas. The squirrels just want them to sod-off.

simplelsie / Website (9.9.06 14:35) I feel like every time I come here I say, "Oh, the drawings are lovely" but indeed the drawings are lovely. And the contribution that squirrels make to the progress of human knowledge made me laugh! |

petescully / Website (9.9.06 16:36) Squirrels are a lot more in the know than we realise. Each one of those acorns you see them carrying contains secret messages from agents around the world. Don't tell George Bush. |

simplelsie (9.9.06 21:35) The squirrels around my house are gorging themselves on black walnuts, carrying them all over the yard, dropping them from great heights onto glass panels and cars. Between the damage from that and the way any black walnut trees they plant will kill all surrounding vegetation, I think you're right. They certainly are working for someplace that got mayhem on their minds. |

Jana Bouc / Website (17.9.06 07:18) I'm so envious of your drawing abilities. These little landscapes are just fabulous! I won't even get started on squirrels. I had to stop feeding the birds because the squirrels just kept eating all the seeds, and it was driving me crazy. Well, I got started, but I'll leave it there! |
