So the former tyrant Saddam Hussein has been sentenced, sentenced to death. (Sentenced for crimes that were ignored by his friends in the West when he actually committed them). And this convenient news comes conveniently two days before congressional elections that the republicans had up until now look set to lose heavily in, thanks to the Administraitors' handling of iraq. How convenient. How coincidental!

Sketches / Website (6.11.06 07:36) Oh yes convenient and coincidental, but i guess it's okay, at least the convenience and coincidence made it happen. But i wished he was not sentenced to death , he should have lived really really long in prison to suffer thru' everything he put others into. |

valentia / Website (6.11.06 10:19) im not pro death penalty at all, but im glad he got it. and yeah coincidental but who cares really in the end its good.... |

Red Queen / Website (6.11.06 14:20) While I think Saddam Hussein doesn't deserve to die (he should be put in an open cage hung from the highest building in Baghdad, supplied with a mechanism to blow up anyone who might want to rescue him) - I keep an equally open mind about him being the only war criminal in this case (and I don't mean his allies, either). What is worrying (even if it's not new) is that Saddam's sentencing was based on the 148 Iraqi people figure. Presumably what makes Mr Bush so much better is that he didn't aim to murder fellow Murcans, only wee unimportant Iraqis... |

petescully (6.11.06 16:23) i am very anti-death penalty and he should not have gotten it. He should be made to rot, and not become a martyr. But he also should not have been tried until after the occupation had ended. This whole charade was a forced event, and the timing of this sentence is too coincidental not to look like it had been forced through as well. Will he face trial now for the rest of his crimes against humanity? What are the chances he won't be hanged until, ooh, early november 2008? |
|
Adrian (14.11.06 13:24) No, early November 2008 is when they'll suddenly realise that they've known all along where Bin Laden is, & parade his head on a stick through the streets of DC. |
